Rambutan and Pulasan
Rambutan and pulasan are very well known tropical fruit, although pulasan not as popular as rambutan. Both of them almost look alike, red in colour, round, with white pulp, juicy, taste sweet and contain single seed. The easiest way to differentiate them is the texture of the fruit, which is rambutan is hairy while pulasan with short dull torns like lychee. Other differences are pulasan peel is thicker than rambutan peel and pulasan taste sweeter than rambutan. But rambutan more popular than pulasan because it widely cultivated. Rambutan derived its name from Malay word 'rambut' which mean hair. While pulasan derived its name also from Malay word 'pulas' which mean twist. That is the trick how to peel off the thick pulasan peel.

Both of them in the same family, Sapindaceae and also share same genus.
Rambutan : Nephelium lappaceum L.
Pulasan : Nephelium ramboutan-ake (Labill.) Leenh. Syn: Nephelium mutabile Blume
Both Origin : Southeast Asia

I have discovered a much better way to blog with photos in Flickr. Here is how.
When yo go to Flickr, click on allsizes, and copy the code given at the bottom. Then in your blog, just paste it and the photos and the link to flickr is there. I did in the Dendron postings
Dendron et cetera
I left a few notes in the Dendron. Go and read. Make sure you sms other members of the class in systematics and diversity to read it as well. After Hari Raya we will have a quiz
Also please be reminded that you should update your profiles in your blog so that we know who you are.
